My journey

I've always been a believer in saying your dreams out loud. After telling a number of people that I dreamed of living overseas, the right person heard me and I was introduced to someone who needed a hand prepping her vineyard for the springtime growing season. Similar to me, her vines were ready to transform from dormancy to a reawakening. Did I mention that this vineyard was in Piedmont, ITALY?

I packed my bags, hopped a plane to Milan, and met my new "sister" and teacher for the next three months. Through her friendship, knowledge and her lessons of perseverance, a little bud of inspiration grew within me.

After these months of learning about Barbera vines and scattered adventures within southern Europe, I came home to recreate my career. I attempted to make a living in the wine world. I working in wine shops, selling wine and networking as much as possible to find a suitable opportunity.

As much passion as I had, that one single opportunity never presented itself. I was fortunate enough to find a gratifying career in renewable energy, but my passion for that fermented fruit juice still lived.

Since my time in Italy, I received two certifications from The Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET) - the largest and most respected wine education and certification organization of its kind in the world. I continue to be a wine ambassador doing wine tastings and teaching wine classes at business and homes.
